51-60 Among “Young” Universities, 251-300 in Graduate Employability Worldwide
Bilkent University has again been named as Turkey’s highest-ranked university in two of the latest Quacquarelli Symonds world university rankings for 2018: the QS Top 50 Under 50 and the QS Graduate Employability Rankings.
The 50 Under 50 rankings comprise leading universities that were founded less than 50 years ago. The latest listing includes both the “Top 50 Under 50,” and, for the first time, the “Next 100 Under 50,” containing in total 150 institutions founded after 1967.
In the 2018 rankings, Bilkent University appears in the 51-60 group, together with Koç University. Sabancı University is in the 61-70 group, and Çukurova University in the 101-150 group.
The Graduate Employability Rankings compare the employability outcomes of higher education institutions around the world, in an attempt to evaluate the institutions’ reputations among employers and the attractiveness of their recent graduates in the job market. Indicators used in these rankings fall into five categories: employer reputation (30%); partnerships with employers (25%); alumni outcomes (25%); employer–student connections (10%); and graduate employment rate (10%).
Among the universities evaluated, Bilkent ranked in the 251-300 band overall. Boğaziçi, İTÜ, İstanbul, Koç, METU and Sabancı universities ranked in the 301-500 band.
