Dr. Naime Usul, a PhD graduate (’17) of the Department of Management, has received the 2017 Hakan Orbay Research Award for PhD students. The award is presented annually by the Sabancı University School of Management in memory of faculty member Hakan Orbay.
Hakan Orbay Awards are given in two categories – PhD students and young researchers – on the basis of papers submitted to a jury. All theoretical and applied work in finance and microeconomics is eligible for submission; however, of special interest are works in theory of the firm, contract and incentive theory, applied and theoretical work in company financing and corporate governance, and research dedicated to understanding emerging markets.
The aim of the student award is to support PhD candidates in undertaking high-quality research in finance and microeconomics. Dr. Naime’s paper, “Affect-Based Stock Investment Decision: The Role of Affective Self-Affinity,” received the highest score from the jury among this year’s submissions.
