On April 3, in collaboration with the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, the Career Center held an event on the premises of the home furnishings retailer IKEA, offering third-year IAED students the opportunity to hear first-hand how designers working in a mass-market retail setting approach the design and planning process.
The focus of the event was a presentation by a three-person design team from IKEA, who used a 35 sq m sample house layout to demonstrate how they create and design an interior space. The designers also discussed IKEA’s style groups and long-term home furnishing priorities. During the presentation, students were invited to ask questions and offer their own design ideas.
