This year’s GE100 Orientation, a course designed to welcome incoming students and acclimatize them to the university’s academic and social environment, was held September 17–19. During GE100, students collected the points necessary to receive credit for completing the course by attending workshops, seminars, classical music concerts, movies and department introductions. These activities helped new Bilkenters become acquainted with the campus and its resources, including academic options as well as library facilities and other amenities of the university.
Welcoming remarks were given by Rector Abdullah Atalar and Pınar Abay, a 1998 graduate of the Department of Economics and CEO at ING Bank Turkey. Also, representatives of 74 of Bilkent University’s 100-plus student clubs were there on the first day of orientation to meet with freshmen.
