Bilkent alumna Didem Doğar has been named one of this year’s “Ten Outstanding Young Persons of Turkey.” Ms. Doğar, a 2010 law graduate who has worked for the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and also for the Council of Europe, is currently pursuing doctoral studies at the McGill University Faculty of Law in Canada. She was selected for the honor based on her achievements in the area of legal, political and governmental affairs.
Organized by the Turkish branch of Junior Chamber International (JCI), TOYP Turkey is part of JCI’s “Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World” (TOYP) program, which serves to recognize individuals who excel in their chosen fields and exemplify the best attributes of the world’s young people.
The TOYP Turkey awards are presented annually, in 10 different categories, to Turkish citizens between the ages of 18 and 40. The selected outstanding individuals will represent Turkey at the international TOYP event, to be held in Estonia next year.
This year’s TOYP Turkey ceremony, at which Ms. Doğar received her award, took place on November 22 in İstanbul, at Akatlar Kültür Merkezi.
