What do you like best about Turkey?
I love the variety of people in Turkey. One can easily get to know people from any corner of the world and learn about different cultures.
Are there any similarities between Turkey and your home country?
They are many similarities, as we share the same origins. Both are hospitable, and the food is great.
What will you miss most about Bilkent/Turkey?
There are so many things I’m going to miss, especially girls from Azerbaijan and Turkey.
What’s your favorite place on campus, and why?
Since I love football so much, I spend most of my free time either on the football field or in the dormitory watching football with my friends.
What’s your favorite Turkish food and/or favorite part of Turkish culture?
My favorite food is kebap, and what I like best about Turkish culture are the performing arts here, such as music, drama and theater.
Where do you expect to see yourself 10 years from now?
Hopefully, contributing to my country’s development even while living in other parts of the world.
What’s the hardest challenge you’ve handled in Turkey?
Balancing social life with academics has been hardest thing I’ve dealt with. Bilkent puts so much pressure on us, which makes it difficult to have a social life.
What cities have you visited in Turkey?
I have a list of many cities I want to visit. So far, I’ve only been to İstanbul, but I prefer Ankara.
Do you have any hidden talents?
Unlike many guys, I can cook very delicious food. Also, I love dancing to Caucasian songs and doing the Lezginka.
What’s an interesting question or comment you hear frequently at Bilkent/in Turkey?
My friends at other universities in Ankara keep saying that the girls at Bilkent are so beautiful.
Describe yourself in three words.
Brave, social, naughty.
If you could master any skill, which one would you choose, and why?
Paragliding would be the first choice among the skills I want to master. I’ve always wanted to fly over the mountains, and paragliding offers the perfect opportunity to make that dream come true.
