On Thursday, April 11, the Bilkent Teaching and Learning Support Center (BTLSC) held its first seminar, on the topic “Educational Technology Use: Experiences at Bilkent University.” The event aimed to provide educators with the opportunity to share with their peers and demonstrate how they utilize Moodle for their courses. The presenter, Faculty Academic English Program instructor and unit head Marlene Elwell, outlined aspects of her teaching practice that have encouraged students’ use of Moodle to maximize their learning experiences.
The second seminar is scheduled for Thursday, April 25, with Dr. Özlem Zengin discussing “New-Generation Learning.” In her talk, Dr. Zengin, an instructor at BUSEL, will explore the shift in education by reassessing teaching methods and techniques in terms of where we are headed. An overview of the 21st-century skills needed by new-generation learners, as well as the various possible ways of enriching courses to better meet these needs, will be offered. The seminar will take place at 12:40 p.m. in the Engineering building, room EA-409.
