The Bilkent University Board of Trustees met last week on Tuesday, April 20 via video conference. Present at the meeting were Board of Trustees Chair Gülsev Kale, Vice Chairs Erol Arkun and Ergül Tunçbilek, Board members Ayhan Atlıman, İlker Baybars, Ümit Çatalyürek, Mefharet Kocatepe, Tezer Kutluk, Ahmet Nalbur, Şencan Özme, Meral Özsoyoğlu, Muhsin Saraçlar, Sübidey Togan, Kadriye Yurdakök, and Rector Abdullah Atalar.
Items on the agenda for discussion by the Board included a number of proposals that had been put forward by the University Senate.
The Board approved the establishment of a Center for Human Rights Studies and Research (İnsan Hakları Çalışmaları Araştırma Merkezi).In addition, the Board of Trustees reviewed and approved University Senate proposals regarding various changes to the regulations for the graduate schools and for undergraduate programs and scholarships.
Following discussion of the above, the Board set the tuition rates for the 2021–2022 academic year.
Tuition will be 50,600 TL (+VAT) for students admitted in or before 2015; 53,700 TL (+VAT) for those admitted between 2016 and 2019; and 57,500 TL (+VAT) for those admitted during or after 2020. The tuition rates for international students will be $12,900 (+VAT) for those admitted in or before 2015; and $13,400 (+VAT) for those admitted during or after 2016.
