The “Bilkent Sports Games” spring badminton tournament took place last week, on the evenings of February 24–26, with competition in four categories. Below are the names of the players who finished in the top three places in each category.

The spring semester “Bilkent Sports Games” badminton tournament will be held this week, and all students are welcome to participate.

The tournament is scheduled to take place February 24–26 in the Main Sports Hall. Competition will take place in both women’s and men’s categories, and will begin at 6 p.m. each evening.

The event will be held in accordance with COVID-19 preventive measures. Students taking GE250/251 will receive 10 points for taking part in the tournament.

The “Bilkent Sports Games” fall badminton and tennis tournaments took place during the past two weeks. The badminton event on November 19 and 20 featured competition in three categories, while tennis matches were played on November 26, 27 and 28, in two categories.

It’s time to get out your rackets! This fall’s “Bilkent Sports Games” badminton and tennis tournaments are about to begin, and all students are welcome to participate.

The badminton tournament will take place on November 19 and 20 in the East Campus Sports Hall. Matches will played in the following categories: men’s beginner and intermediate; women’s beginner.

The tennis tournament will take place November 26–28 at the indoor tennis courts of the outdoor sports facilities complex. Matches will played in these categories: men’s beginner, intermediate and advanced; women’s beginner and intermediate.

Competition in both tournaments will start at 6 p.m. every evening. The events will be held in accordance with COVID-19 preventive measures.

Students taking GE250/251 will receive 10 points for taking part in either one of the tournaments.

In the national interuniversity second division badminton championship tournament held March 16-19 in Kemer, Antalya, the Bilkent University badminton team placed in the top 5 among the 34 university teams playing in the event. This result earned Bilkent promotion to the first division of the university league.

In the initial group stage of the tournament, Bilkent won against Sinop University and Istanbul Technical University, and moved on to the second round along with Gazi University. In this round, the Bilkent team played well against Bilecik University, Harran University and Yıldız Technical University, ending up second in the group and qualifying for the playoffs.

In the final match, Bilkent gained a well-earned victory after highly competitive games against Mersin University. These results booked the Bilkent badminton team’s place in the first division next year.
