The Department of Communication and Design held an exhibition by the COMD Media Archaeology Lab called “Bellek Zaman” (Memory Time) at the FADA Exhibition last week.
In the exhibition, interns of the Media Archaeology Lab brought obsolete media technology alive. They reconstructed and set up an original FADA 35mm Slide Archive (with viewing and scanning possibilities of more than 50,000 slides on art, design and architecture), 8 mm film projection, VHS film archive viewing and the interactive, analog multiple video installation CAMMEKAN. Visitors were invited to curate their own slide “cakes,” view and scan obsolete media or explore telepresence while sitting in an analogue multiverse.
