In this feature, “All About Clubs and Societies,” Bilkent News is highlighting a different student club or society each issue.

Bilkent Chemistry Club

The Bilkent Chemistry Club endeavors to convey to students information about scientific developments taking place around the world; strengthen communication among students; and encourage their enthusiasm for science. The events held by the club include lectures and/or interviews concerning studies published in the field of chemistry as well as activities that better acquaint students with chemistry’s place in both industry and academia.

In short, the club aims to reach those who love chemistry and create a social learning environment where scientific activities and developments are shared with members. If you want to have fun while learning and collect some good memories, they would be happy to have you among them!

The Information Security Society

The Information Security Society, usually known as Exploit Studio, is a Bilkent-based hacking club where people ranging from high school students to cybersecurity professionals spend time and learn together. The club holds frequent workshops, events and talks; since its founding, Exploit Studio has hosted more than 50 talks and workshops on various cybersecurity topics.

Among the many topics covered at club events are application security (mobile/web), cryptography, cyberthreat intelligence, exploit development, forensics, malware analysis, open-source intelligence, reverse engineering and signal intelligence.

In addition, Exploit Studio participates in international events and capture-the-flag competitions, at some of which it has won awards. The club also participates in the Locked Shields Partner Run event organized by the NATO Cooperative Cyberdefense Center of Excellence each year.
