The European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) recently announced that Asst. Prof. Amir Bahrami of UNAM has been selected as one of six scientists to receive an EMBO installation grant.
EMBO Director Fiona Watt stated that the organization was delighted to welcome the new grantees. “EMBO promotes excellence in the life sciences throughout all parts of Europe, and beyond,” she noted. “We look forward to the contributions of the grantees in the countries they moved or returned to as well as to the wider scientific community.”
Dr. Bahrami will be establishing his research group, which focuses primarily on theoretical modeling and simulations of soft/active matter and cellular/biological systems, at UNAM. He will receive 50,000 euros annually for three to five years and will also be able apply for additional grants of up to 10,000 euros per year.
