On October 16, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Director for Cultural and Natural Heritage Bekir Ödemiş visited the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management.
The visit included a luncheon at the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management’s practice restaurant, Le Piment Rouge, where students of the department prepared and served examples from French cuisine under the supervision of chef instructor Elif Denizci and service instructor Ali Ünal. Among the guests at the luncheon were Prof. Dominique Tezgör, associate dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Letters and chair of the Department of Archaeology; Asst. Prof. Eda Gürel, acting chair of the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management; and instructors Mustafa Siyahhan, Arzu Sibel İkinci and Oğuz Benice.
During his visit, Mr. Ödemiş made very positive comments about Bilkent University and its high quality of education. The event marked the start of a collaborative relationship between the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and the Departments of Tourism and Hotel Management and Archaeology to conserve the cultural and natural heritage of Ankara.
