Between November 2nd and 7th, the 22nd council meeting (CM) of ESTIEM (European Students
of Industrial Engineering and Management) will take place at Bilkent University. ESTIEM is
a huge organization recognized by the European Union and the CM is ESTIEM's most
prestigious activity. At the meeting, general decisions about the society are made,
elections are held and new ideas for future activities are discussed. The university to
host each year's CM is voted on and last year, at the CM in Germany, Bilkent was chosen to
organize this year's CM. One hundred and seventy European IE students will come to Bilkent
to represent their universities. In our university, the Operational Research Society
represents Bilkent in ESTIEM. The project leader İsmet Burçak Güldo (IE/III) said,
"First we gave great effort to be chosen to organize this autumn's CM and since we
were chosen, we are giving great effort to organizing this event. We want to organize the
best CM to be talked about by ESTIEM members for years. I hope we will achieve it."
