Recently, the Bilkent University International Center organized a weekend trip to Cappadocia for International Faculty Members. The center also organized a weekend trip to İstanbul last March. Berna Örge, the International Center Coordinator says, "I would like to see more people on these trips. It is one of the best opportunities to meet new people from the university and to visit places worth seeing in, and outside of, Ankara under professional guidance."

The International Center is planning to organize more trips and social events for International Faculty Members as the semester unfolds. A day trip to Konya has been scheduled to see the Whirling Dervishes Sema Ceremony (Special Ritual), which takes place once a year during the Mevlana festival every December. The Konya trip will take place on Sunday, December 3rd. Since there is limited space, reservations will be made on a first come, first serve basis. The cost of the trip is 80 YTL.
