The New Student Council Takes Over Responsibilities

The new Executive Committee of the Student Council took office on Wednesday, November 26. A ceremony was held at the Rector's Office, where the former Executive Committee members handed over their responsibilities to the newly elected members.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish the new members an exciting and productive year.

Setting the Course: A Message from Your Student Council President

Dear Bilkent University Students,

As the president of your Student Council for the 2008-2009 academic year, I would like to take this opportunity to let you know about our plans and expectations for the new academic year. Our main goal, of course, is to continue developing the already rich social life that exists on campus. After all, a good balance between studies and social interaction is crucial for health and happiness. We believe in Bilkent, and want to unite all students under the Bilkent banner. We will keep the spirit of the school alive and well, and help every student feel as though they are part of something special.

Your new council is starting off with passion. We are here to work for you, and have your needs in mind. As your connection to the administration, we want to hear your concerns, suggestions, thoughts, feelings and desires when it comes to this school. We urge you to take an active role by communicating with us.

We are dedicated to doing our very best to represent each and every student, and Bilkent University.

Student Council President
Doğukan Özer(THS/I)
