A memorandum of understanding has been signed between Bilkent University and Ruhr-Universität Bochum on November 9, 2009, in Ankara. The memorandum stipulates cooperation in various areas, such as student and faculty exchange, joint research activities, organization of seminars and academic meetings.
The initial activity will be research collaboration on applications of femtosecond lasers to plasma science. The coordinators are Asst. Prof. F. Ömer Ýlday of the Physics Department, Bilkent University and Prof. Jörg Winter of the Institute for Experimental Physics II at Ruhr-Universität Bochum, respectively.
