2011 has started with lots of new albums and new bands. Some new bands have not yet released a debut album but have just recorded a couple of singles. Others have started climbing the charts. Here are some bands that you should follow in 2011:
Mona
If you are looking for a new band based on alternative rock and impressive guitar riffs, you should pay attention to this band this year. Mona has not produced a studio album yet, but they have released 3 singles. The band is presented as new version of Kings of Leon (both of them are from Nashville, Tennessee). Mona's debut album will be released on May 16, 2011. They have already been nominated as Best New Band on the MTV Music Awards.
Key Songs: "Trouble On the Way," "Listen to Your Love"
Brother
Brother is one of the most interesting bands of the year. Brother exploded in the UK with singles but no album. They are so ambitious and said: "We want to headline Glastonbury Festival. And we will." Their genre is Britpop, even though they realize that britpop has some bad connotations. They don't care about its reputation and want to bring it back to life. On their first interview to NME.com, Brother boasted: "Are you ready for the future of music? If not, leave now." Now, we are waiting for their first studio album.
Key Songs: "Time Machine," "Darling Buds of May"
Chapel Club - Palace
Palace is one of the freshest albums of the year. Chapel Club released their debut album on January 31. The London based, indie/alternative rock band's album includes 11 tracks. Chapel Club impressed with their 2010 singles, "O Maybe I" and "All the Eastern Girls." Now they are on music lists with "Surfacing," the first single of Palace. They are now on tour in the UK, and most of the tickets of their gigs are already sold out.
Key Songs: "Paper Thin," "Surfacing"
