Scholarship Honors Memory of Bilkent CS Graduate
The Hayati Çam Scholarship at Bilkent, established in honor of a '05 Computer Engineering (CS) graduate, provides an opportunity for computer engineering students to achieve their educational goals.
Hayati Çam graduated from İzmir Yamanlar Science High School in 2001 and that September entered the Bilkent Department of Computer Engineering as an undergraduate. Graduating in 2005, he went on to pursue an advanced degree in the same department. He obtained his master's degree in 2008. At the age of 26, he lost his life in a tragic car accident in Ankara in May 2009.
Devastated by the loss, his friends decided that the best way to honor Hayati’s memory was to help other students, and so they established a scholarship in his name. The Hayati Çam Scholarship is open to all CS undergraduate students. Eligibility is based on academic merit and demonstrated need for financial aid.
