CaseCamp: A Weekend Full of Experience and Entertainment

Mühendislik Topluluğu (MT) held its fifth CaseCamp December 2-4. Forty students, many from Turkey's top universities, including Boğaziçi, İTÜ, Koç and METU as well as Bilkent, and all of them eager to learn more about case studies, had been chosen to participate from among almost 700 applicants through kariyer.net.

Students did not need to pay for registration or any other expenses except for transportation, since all activities, even a party at Flat x2, were covered by MT. For this reason, participation was limited to 40 (although MT would have liked to host all 700 applicants for the weekend).

On Friday, students coming from other cities were welcomed with "Pizza Night" and some games, which helped participants get better acquainted with each other and with the organization team, consisting of 40 members of MT.

On Saturday, eight teams of five participants each were formed. The teams were then instructed by trainers from GoodJob in areas such as marketing strategy, which would help them solve the case the following day. After an exhausting morning and afternoon, it was time to have some fun until the late hours.

On Sunday, the case, which concerned selling watches on the Internet, was set out. Each group made a presentation and was then rated by the jury, consisting of Department of Industrial Engineering Chair İhsan Sabuncuoğlu, Serhan Ok from the GoodJob company and Yusuf Barutçu, an independent entrepreneur. Each member of the winning team was rewarded with an internship opportunity at Bilkent Holding, along with a gift.

CaseCamp has become almost a tradition for both Mühendislik Toplululuğu and Bilkent, and has growing popularity among students at many other universities. In addition, MT is planning more exciting events to take place in the near future.
