The Third Bilkent Tourism Forum, organized by the School of Tourism and Hotel Management, attracted more than 600 participants to Bilkent Hotel Ankara on December 4 and 5.
The forum was inaugurated by Rector Ali Doğramacı. The first day's topic was entitled "Computerized Information and Communication Technologies in Tourism" and was discussed at two sessions with the participation of panelists from the industry, government agencies and universities. On the second day, the 1998 Turkish Tourism Season was extensively analyzed by distinguished experts from the tourism sector, including Fermani Uygun, the under secretary of the Turkish Ministry of Tourism, and Talha Çamaş, the President of the Turkish Association of Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB).
The panelists and the participants particularly acknowledged the performance of the students working for the forum organization. The School of Tourism and Hotel Management will publish the forum proceedings in a book.
