Grup Gündoğarken to Cap Sports Games
On Wednesday, May 10, starting at 4 p.m., there will be a big gathering at Bilkent ODEON, the new amphitheater on Main Campus. As part of the Second Annual Turkish University Sports Games, an awards ceremony will be framed by a short concert by BASSO and a special performance by Grup Gündoğarken.

For the past week, the Second Annual Turkish University Sports Games have been taking place in Ankara. Organized by the University Sports Federation, the Games have attracted as many as 5000 university athletes taking part in 22 different categories. Sixty Turkish universities, including Bilkent, are represented. All the universities in Ankara have contributed to the organization of the massive event, with about 25 of their students working as part of a volunteer team in the areas of public relations and fund-raising. The Sports Games aim to encourage friendship among students in addition to athletic achievement.

This year, in addition to the awards ceremony, Bilkent University is hosting the fencing, women's soccer, and men's soccer competitions.

Admission to the celebration at the ODEON is free, and all are welcome to pay tribute to Turkey's university athletes. Buses to ODEON will leave from all campuses beginning at 4 p.m.
