The first league game of the season between the Bilkent Judges and METU Falcons ended up with the victory going to the METU Falcons, with a final score of 20-18. The Judges played very well throughout the game but the final score hinged on a few pivotal plays. The Judges started the game with an impressive set of plays and led the game early with a score of 6 to 0. Bilkent’s Serkan Uçar indicated that referee decisions during the game played a critical role in the rest of the game.
During the entire game, enthusiastic support gave the team morale, and at the end of the game Bilkent supporters were still applauding and cheering for the Judges. Defensive captain Soykan
Þensan said: “this was an unexpected loss but we will definitely learn from our mistakes, and I hope we will not make the same ones in our next game. I want to say thank you to everyone who came out and supported us”.
The Judges’ next match is with the Hacettepe Red Deers on Sunday, March 16 at Hacettepe University.
