Melanie Swetz, head of English at Bilkent Erzurum Laboratory School, spent three weeks in Salt Lake City, Utah, this summer on a fellowship from the Norman Mailer Center and Writer’s Colony. This is the third time Ms. Swetz has received a Mailer Fellowship.
The Mailer Fellowship programs focus on an individual’s work while at the same time providing a forum for discussion with other writers. The fellowships are intended for emerging and mid-career writers, with an emphasis on the quality of writing rather than the quantity of publications.
