During March, a project titled “Womanhood and Sustainability” has been connecting Turkish and Swiss artists for a month of talks, workshops, performances, panel discussions and exhibitions of their artwork. Bilkent faculty members and students are among the project’s participants.
Department of Communication and Design Chair Andreas Treske and Department of Fine Arts faculty member Beata Zalewska have contributed to the workshops, performances and exhibitions taking place in Ankara and İstanbul throughout the month. Doğa Atabay, Müge İrem Beyazıt, Doğa Ertekin,Ekin Su Ünal and Selin Yalman, students in those departments, are also contributing works to the project.
The idea behind “Womanhood and Sustainability” is to generate innovative ideas and create a platform for interaction through art by engaging local organizations and connecting key figures in art, feminist art and the environmental movement.
