It’s likely that few of us realize just how many sports and other competitive events Bilkent students take part in. For instance, the university has a karting (go-kart racing) team, which recently took third place in the UNIKART races.
UNIKART is Turkey’s university-level championship karting event, which was held for the third time this year. The races were organized under the auspices of the Turkish University Sports Federation and coordinated by Middle East Technical University (METU).
Twenty-five entrants from seven universities competed in the event, which consisted of 14 races divided into two stages. METU took first place with 148 points, while Başkent University came in second with 132 points and Bilkent University third with 114 points.
