Nine Bilkent faculty members have received Distinguished Young Scientist (BAGEP) awards for 2017. The awards are given by the Science Academy Association (Bilim Akademisi Derneği), which was established in 2011.

Prof. Serkan İsmail Göktuna, Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics; Asst. Prof. Selim Hanay, Department of Mechanical Engineering; Asst. Prof. Coşkun Kocabaş, Department of Physics; Asst.
Prof. Ayşe Begüm Tekinay, Institute of Materials Science and Nanotechnology, UNAM; Asst. Prof. Yıldıray Yıldız, Department of Mechanical Engineering.
Under the BAGEP program, awardees receive 15,000 TL per year for a period of two years to support them in their research. The objective of the program is to recognize highly promising young scientists and assist them in furthering their investigations. http://bilimakademisi.org/bagep-2017/
