Two Bilkent University faculty members have been recognized by the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK).
Asst. Prof. Can Alkan of the Department of Computer Engineering and Assoc. Prof. Sinan Gezici of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering have received TÜBİTAK Incentive Awards for 2015.
Dr. Gezici received the award for his research accomplishments in the area of detection and estimation theory, while Dr. Alkan was recognized for his work in the area of bioinformatics algorithms, combinatorial algorithms design for the analysis of high-throughput DNA sequencing data and genomics.
Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering graduate Çağatay Candan (MS ’98) is also among the the 2015 Incentive Award recipients.
The TÜBİTAK Incentive Awards are presented to scientists under the age of 40 who have demonstrated the potential to provide outstanding contributions to science at an international level.
