IMG_22882 (620 x 413)The 14th annual Angora Cup interuniversity sports festival, organized by the Bilkent Physical Education and Sports Center, took place April 21-24. Bilkent teams and athletes emerged as the winners in five of the eleven contests for the cup, with Başkent and METU picking up three wins each.

Approximately 500 students from nine universities in the Ankara area—Atılım, Ankara, Başkent, Bilkent, Çankaya, Hacettepe, METU, TOBB ETU and Türk Hava Kurumu—participated in the event, whose main goal was to offer a “fair play” atmosphere where university students with a common interest in sports could build friendships.

In that friendly ambience, students still competed with great determination to win trophies and awards in their sports, either as individuals or on teams. This year, swimming and women’s football were added to the program, which also featured men’s football, men’s team handball, table tennis, tennis and volleyball as in the past.
