Last Wednesday, February 15, Bilkent News visited BLIS (Bilkent Laboratory International School) fifth-grade students for a school conversation.
The students, who are currently studying newspaper writing in their English classes, showed great interest in learning more about how a newspaper is run.
After a presentation by Bilkent News managing editor Hande Seçkin Onat outlining the steps that go into publishing a newspaper, from collecting news items and editing articles to the printing process, Bilkent News student reporter and columnist Tasneem Al-Ghamdi, a Communication and Design fourth-year student, shared her experiences concerning what a reporter’s life is like and what inspires her.
Almost all of the students seemed very eager for more information and asked brilliant questions about newspaper publishing.
