On July 10, Prof. Erdal Arıkan of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering participated in the 2019 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (ISIT) as Shannon Lecturer and plenary speaker.The symposium took place July 7–12 at the Maison de la Mutualité in Paris, where Prof. Arıkan gave a lecture titled “From Sequential Decoding to Channel Polarization and Back Again.”
The IEEE describes ISIT as “the premier international conference dedicated to the advancement of information theory and related areas.” The event “brings together an international community of researchers and practitioners each year in the field of information theory to present and discuss new research results and perspectives on future developments relevant to all areas of information theory.”
