The National Magnetic Resonance Research Center (UMRAM) and the Aysel Sabuncu Brain Research Center celebrated the new year early by combining UMRAM’s annual holiday party with the Sabuncu Center’s 2016 scientific meeting, held on December 2.
After welcoming remarks by Prof. Ergin Atalar, director of UMRAM, and Assoc. Prof. Michelle Adams, head of the neuroscience program, the meeting began with a talk on compressed sensing by Dr. Emre Güven of ASELSAN. Next, Prof. Turgay Dalkara of the Hacettepe University Department of Neurology spoke on the topic of “discovering the brain.” Four short presentations by Brain Research Center researchers followed.
The meeting also included 38 poster presentations; a festive dinner concluded the day. The combined event, which lasted approximately six hours, was very well attended, with the audience of over one hundred exceeding the capacity of the Centers’ conference room.
