On December 12, the 15th Ankara Startup Summit took place at Mithat Çoruh Auditorium on the Bilkent campus, with online streaming on YouTube, attracting more than 2,000 attendees combined. The event, organized by the Bilkent Young Entrepreneurs Society in partnership with Bilkent Cyberpark and with Jotform as the main sponsor, brought founders of aspiring startups together with representatives of the entrepreneurial world.
The summit culminated in a competition among 20 startups that had been selected from among more than 100 applicants. The startups competed in two categories – Elevator Pitch and Startup Battle – with awards presented to the top finishers at the end of the event.
The “Flavorsion” team, consisting of Bilkent Computer Engineering students Aleyna Sütbaş, Berk Takıt, Baykam Say, Ramazan Melih Diksu and Ömer Yavuz Öztürk and advised by CS Asst. Prof. of Practice Eray Tüzün, received third prize in the Elevator Pitch category. The prize included $5,000 in credits from Amazon Web Services for the development of their project as well as an invitation to participate in the preincubation program at Hacettepe Teknokent.
