TechWeb, a team made up of Bilkent University students Mehmet Furkan Şahin (CS/II), Erdem Bıyık (EE/II) and Baraa Orabi (CS/II), took first place in Turkey in the IEEExtreme 8.0 Programming Competition, held October 18. TechWeb also ranked 73rd among more than 5,000 international participants, and was awarded a prize by IEEE (the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers).
Another Bilkent University team, the Gaussian Surfers, came in second in Turkey, with METUPES from Middle East Technical University taking third place.
IEEExtreme is an international 24-hour programming competition that takes place annually, organized by IEEE in countries around the world. Here on campus, the Bilkent IEEE Student Branch hosts the competition every year.
