The Bilkent University Board of Trustees met on February 22, 2016. Present at the meeting were Board Chairman Ali Doğramacı, Vice Chairmen Ergün Toğrol and Ergül Tunçbilek, Board members İlker Baybars, Gülsev Kale, Ali Karaosmanoğlu, Yahya Laleli, Ahmet Nalbur, Şencan Özme, Muhsin Saraçlar and Z. Boğaç Üner, and Rector Abdullah Atalar.
Items on the agenda for discussion by the Board of Trustees included two new graduate programs. The Board approved a proposal put forward by the University Senate for a new master’s program in Architecture in the Graduate School of Engineering and Science. The board also heard about preparations for a new master’s program in the Department of Philosophy, and expressed enthusiasm and support for a proposal to be drafted.
The Board then reviewed and approved the Senate’s proposals regarding some changes to the university’s regulations regarding procurement. Proposals by the Senate with respect to some changes in the university’s Academic Rules and Regulations and undergraduate transfer regulations were also discussed and approved.
In addition, the Board approved the revised budget for the 2016-2017 academic year and set tuition rates for that year.
For all Turkish nationals, the tuition fee for the 2016-2017 academic year (8% VAT included) will be:
28,600 TL for those admitted before 2016;
30,400 TL for those admitted in 2016.
For international students, the tuition fee for the 2016-17 academic year (8% VAT included) will be:
13,950 USD for those admitted before 2016;
14,500 USD for those admitted in 2016.
