Among the offerings of the Bilkent University Foreign Language Unit are courses in basic Korean (LNG 231-01 and LNG 232-01), taught by instructor Nam Sig Yang. On November 15, students in the courses gained additional insight into Korean culture at a workshop presented by painters Moontae Kim and Cheongcho Lee.

The two artists are currently traveling to various countries, using painting exhibitions to make Korean culture and the Korean alphabet, Hangeul, more familiar to people around the world. In Turkey, exhibitions have been held in İstanbul, Cappadocia and Ankara.

The Bilkent students who attended the workshop created Korean calligraphic paintings using traditional materials and techniques, writing their own names and other meaningful phrases.
