Asst. Prof. Çağlar Çekiç of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics has been awarded a prestigious European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) Installation Grant.
He is among nine scientists who have been selected to receive the grant this year. The objective of the EMBO Installation Grants is to support young scientists working in the life sciences, allowing them to establish their own research groups in the organization’s member states.
Dr. Çekiç’s research activities are centered on immune cell regulation.
The scientists receive 50,000 euros annually for three to five years from their host countries. The nine grantees will also enter the EMBO Young Investigators network, helping them integrate into the European scientific community.
