Prof. Hilmi Volkan Demir, of the Departments of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Physics, was appointed director of the Institute of Materials Science and Nanotechnology (UNAM) as of December 8, 2015.
Prof. Demir took over the position from Prof. Mehmet Bayındır, who had served as director of the Institute since February 2013.
Bilkent extends its gratitude to Prof. Bayındır and wishes Prof. Demir all the best in his new position.
