The first Bilkent Media Future Initiative, hosted by the Department of Communication and Design, took place on campus September 16-19. The core event was the Transmedia Media Workshop led by Egbert van Wyngaarden, one of the leading experts in the field. During the workshop, participants developed four professional transmedia projects that will be pitched for funding in the near future.
In addition to the workshop, the Initiative featured talks on the future of the media and transmedia, delivered by leading media experts. Keynote speakers were Nokia Networks Chief Architect Volker Ziegler, Somera CEO Gencay K. Evirgen, game and product designers Onur Şentüre and Onur Saka, and Nokta Medya content developers Cansu Nergiz and Burak Tokoğlu.
