Prof. Semih Tezcan, retired faculty member of the Department of Turkish Literature, passed away on September 17, 2017, following a massive heart attack. We extend our condolences to his family, colleagues, students and the Bilkent community.
The funeral service was held at Maltepe Mosque on Saturday, September 17.
An expert in Turkology, Prof. Tezcan was a member of the Department of Turkish Literature from 2008 to 2015. He also served as a member of the Memory of the World Committee of the Turkish National Commission for UNESCO, and was a 2006 recipient of the TÜBA (Turkish Academy of Science) Award.
