A team of students from the Faculty of Engineering recently came in third in the Digital Turkey Blockchain Hackathon-Digiathon competition with their project MikroVeri. The team included Kaan Aydeniz (CS/I), Ege Aybars Bozkurt (EE/II), Kadir Metehan Çalışkan (EE/III) and Utku Koca (ME/I). The competition was held on November 12 and 13 and was organized by the Digital Transformation Office of the Presidency of Turkey. The aim of the competition was to develop innovative technologies by integrating E-devlet and Blockchain technologies.
Instead of sharing all personal data, the project uses blockchain technologies to divide the data into parts and allow it to be shared in a singular way. Another aspect of the project is to develop a data privacy and data proof protocol that can be integrated into the E-Government gate.
