On November 8–9, the Faculty of Law held a workshop conducted by Prof. Richard Grimes, a lawyer in the UK since 1977 and a lecturer in various law faculties.
In the first part of the workshop, Prof. Grimes met with a group of law students; he spoke to them about the development of legal education, and made a particular point of eliciting their ideas on how to make it more student oriented.
The second part of the workshop consisted of an interactive session facilitated by Prof. Grimes, during which the academic staff of the Faculty of Law and representatives of the Ankara Bar Association pooled ideas on establishing legal clinics where students could learn by doing. The session focused on the importance of learning through experience; the development of different assessment methods was also discussed.
