There’s still plenty of time to get in the swim at this semester’s Sports as a Way of Life Swim Challenge, organized by the Physical Education and Sports Center. The challenge started this week, on November 5, and will run through December 9 (for men)/December 16 (for women).
Participants are to swim a minimum of half an hour at least two times and at most five times per week during the challenge period. They will get 5 Swim Challenge points each time that they swim between 30 and 45 minutes and 10 Swim Challenge points each time that they swim more than 45 minutes. Swimmers should inform the lifeguard they are participating in the challenge each time that they come to the pool.
Students taking GE250/251 who collect points in the challenge will also receive points for the course as follows: 30 GE points for 60 Swim Challenge points; 40 GE points for 80 Swim Challenge points; 50 GE points for 100 Swim Challenge points; and 60 GE points for 120 Swim Challenge points.
At the conclusion of the challenge, a reception will be held at which participants who have collected 120 or more Swim Challenge points will receive receive special prizes.
