Bilkent University Department of Physics, UNAM and Neurosciences faculty member Giovanni Volpe has been chosen as one of the 10 OSA Ambassadors for the year 2016.
OSA—The Optical Society—is the leading professional society for scientists working in the fields of optics and photonics. As emerging leaders in the optics and photonics community, OSA Ambassadors are tasked with sharing their experiences and perspectives with students and young professionals in the field. They provide career advice, technical knowledge and mentorship through serving as traveling lecturers for student chapters and local sections, supporting professional development events at local OSA meetings and engaging with their communities.
OSA Ambassadors are selected for their dedication and commitment in supporting the society’s many local sections, student chapters and young professionals. This inaugural class of ambassadors will engage members throughout the year with a focus on professional development and centennial programming.
