Çağıl Aygen, a 2011 graduate of the Department of Graphic Design, has taken second place in the 10th Packaging Design Student Competition of the Ambalaj Sanayicileri Derneği, with a project called “SmartBox.”
After attending Bilkent, Çağıl completed his graduate studies in design at Yaşar University in the 2013-2014 academic year, under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Nazlı Benlioğlu Gürgan (Bilkent GRA ’05). With his SmartBox project, he won the branding design competition organized by Domus Academy—a private design school in Milan, Italy—and Interni magazine. He was accepted into the master’s program in visual brand design at Domus, receiving a scholarship as well.
Currently, Çağıl is in the process of designing his graduation project at Domus, while also working at FutureBrand, an international branding agency.
SmartBox is a multiuse packaging design that can easily be transformed from a box into a bag. In either form it is light yet sturdy, and its flat surface provides an ideal space for brand information and visuals.
