This week, the Bilkent University Department of Graphic Design is hosting Polish Poster Week. The event, organized by the Association of Art Gardens in cooperation with CerModern and Krzysztof Dydo’s Cracow Poster Gallery to celebrate the 600th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Poland and Turkey, runs from October 20 to 26.

Workshops, lectures, discussion sessions with Polish artists and a series of three exhibitions presenting contemporary Polish posters are taking place on the Bilkent campus and at CerModern in Ankara. Tomasz Bogusławski (Academy of Fine Arts, Gdańsk), Roman Kalarus (Academy of Fine Arts, Katowice), Kaja Renkas (Silesian University, Art Institute, Cieszyn) and Michał Jandura (Academy of Fine Arts, Cracow) have been invited to participate in the project, and are to conduct workshops with students and participate in sessions focusing on particular themes relating to poster art.

The three exhibitions include a group exhibition featuring the works of Mr. Kalarus, Ms. Renkas and Mr. Jandura, which opened at the FADA Exhibition Hall on Monday. On Friday, the other two exhibitions will open at CerModern. In the main lobby, over 70 posters selected from the Krzysztof Dydo collection will be on display, while a solo exhibition comprising around 20 posters by a Polish graphic designer will be mounted in the Hub Art Space Gallery.
