Uğur Bür, a 2002 graduate of the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management and general manager of the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) “cluster” comprising the Holiday Inn Ankara Kavaklıdere and the Crowne Plaza Ankara, recently attended a ceremony in London to accept IHG’s CEO Managing Director Award, given in recognition of the Crowne Plaza’s excellence.
The award, the top honor presented at IHG’s annual Star Awards event, is given to a hotel that “offers service and superior performance beyond the expectations of both its employees and guests” and also displays innovation and creativity to make a difference and meet all of its goals.
In accepting the award, Mr. Bür noted that the cluster he manages had already received awards twice for the Holiday Inn in Kavaklıdere. “However, this award we received for our new hotel, Crowne Plaza Ankara, is very special,” he stated. “We are very proud to receive IHG’s most important and prestigious award, especially as it is presented in an international framework. We will continue to make a difference and satisfy our guests by providing service of the highest standard.”
