From April 2 to 8, Çankaya Municipality’s Zülfü Livaneli Cultural Center was home to an exhibition of “Distinguished Works” by Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design students. The works being exhibited were 2018 fall semester projects created by the students at all levels of the IAED program.
All of the projects were displayed in the format of a poster stating the concept and motivation behind the work, accompanied by drawings as well as a three-dimensional physical and/or computerized model.
The exhibition also included a group of three-dimensional abstract models illustrating basic design concepts; their presence in the show extended its scope beyond a focus on technical proficiency to provide insight into the role of non-representational thinking in the design process.
It was a great opportunity for the visitors to the exhibition, who included students’ families, to trace the development of Bilkent IAED students. The great range of conceptual ideas, styles and perspectives on display showed the skills and capabilities of the students as developed by the IAED Department’s educational program.
