On April 20–21, a team composed of Faculty of Law students Hande Bingöl, Doğukan Hepmayda, Münevver İlayda Şirolu, Fatma Dilara İşler, Gökçe Filiz Çavuşoğlu and Havva Nur Getiren represented Bilkent University at the third Young ISTAC Future Arbitration Counsel Competition, held in İstanbul and organized by the Young İstanbul Arbitration Center (Young ISTAC).
Coached by attorney Derya Durlu Gürzumar and Faculty of Law research assistants Dr. Gizem Alper and Elçin Aktan, the team reached the semifinals as in the past two years and went on to take third place in the competition, making Bilkent the sole university to have won an award in the oral rounds in all three years of the event to date.
This year, a record number of 59 teams comprising 311 students from 28 law faculties from across Turkey participated in the competition.
