At the Library Art Gallery: Paintings by Turan Üstünel
The Bilkent University Library Art Gallery is currently hosting an exhibition of paintings by Turan Üstünel.
Mr. Üstünel, a graduate of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, lived for many years in Russia, where he completed his studies at the St. Petersburg State Academy of Arts and Design. His work is greatly influenced by the Dada movement and surrealism.
The paintings on display in the exhibition are done in an expressive, surreal style; the artist depicts an organic, evolving universe in which everything is interrelated and interacts. In his paintings, small shapes agglomerate into large forms; everything is vibrating and in motion, ultimately providing an infinite number of transformations. The canvases invite the visitor to embark on a unique journey in time and space.
The exhibition will be open every day (except Sundays) between 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. through April 2.
